Northern Lion Dance
This dance originated from the North of China. Due to its difficult moves, the dance is rarely seen in Singapore nowadays. With greater emphasis recently on the promotion of this dance, many countries are starting to revive this long lost sport. WenYang started training for this art in the beginning of 2006. The dance is popular for Opening Ceremony, Welcoming Ceremony and Chinese New Year Celebration. WenYang’s Drunkard Northern Lion Dance routine won us National Championship. We also represented Singapore and won 1st Runner-Up position in the 3rd World Dragon & Lion Dance Championship held in Indonesia Surabaya in December 2006.
